The National Museum of Serbia, together with its affiliated museums — Muzej Vuka i Dositeja and the Memorial Museum of Nadežda and Rastko Petrović — will take part in European Researchers’ Night 2026.
Their programmes examine relationships between people and animals from the perspectives of art, culture, history and everyday life. At the National Museum of Serbia, the workshop “From Earth to Art” draws on artworks and archaeological objects from the museum collection to look at how people have understood animals and the natural world across different periods, from early cave life and riverside settlements to fortifications and large cities.
The practical part of the workshop invites participants to observe the natural environment and turn their own impressions into visual expression, inspired by the ways people in the past transformed experience into art.
