Porodični dan at Muzej Vuka i Dositeja takes place on Saturday, 26 September. The programme explores inscriptions and dedications in books from the museum’s permanent exhibition and is designed for visitors of different ages.
Throughout the day, the activity Reči koje ostaju invites visitors to tour the permanent exhibition independently and then write their own messages and questions on display panels, inspired by the stories, objects and historical figures presented in the museum.
At 13:00, the workshop Tragom reči: ostavi zapis u spomenaru is intended for children aged 9 to 12. Participants will look at dedications and handwritten notes in books kept by the museum, then make their own keepsake books and write messages in them. Registration is required via radionice@narodnimuzej.rs, and participation is confirmed only after a return email acknowledging the registration.
At 15:00, visitors can join a costumed guided tour of Muzej Vuka i Dositeja and meet Mina Karadžić. Dressed in clothing inspired by the 19th century, Mina will speak about her life, family and talents, and the audience will be able to ask questions about the life of a young woman in that period. Refreshments will be served after the tour.
At 16:00, the adult workshop Knjigovez: 19. vek u savremenom ruhu introduces participants to bookbinding in the past and today, and to visual motifs found on different books in the permanent exhibition. Registration is required via radionice@narodnimuzej.rs, with participation granted only after a confirmation reply.
The final activity is a music performance at 18:00, inspired by the poetry and music of Vuk’s time.
