DESCRIPTION:This exhibition\, created by Jasmina Cukić and Marija S. Đo
 rđević\, curators at the National Museum of Serbia\, brings together s
 elected works from the museum’s Collection of 20th-Century Yugoslav Pa
 inting\, along with one contemporary video work.\n\nConceived as a thema
 tic and interpretive project\, it explores the meanings carried by the p
 ainted nude through relationships between pose\, gaze\, drapery\, flesh 
 tones and other visual elements. Rather than presenting works strictly i
 n chronological order or through the idea of the masterpiece\, the exhib
 ition invites visitors to consider how images of the body generate diffe
 rent readings.\n\nThe exhibition is designed as a dialogue: between two 
 curators\, between two exhibition spaces of the National Museum of Serbi
 a\, and between the artworks and the viewer. Its aim is to encourage vis
 itors to reflect on their own way of looking at the body and at the artw
 ork itself.\n\nThe exhibition opens at the National Museum of Serbia on 
 Thursday\, 29 October at 18:00\, and continues at the Spomen-muzej Nade
 žde i Rastka Petrovića on Friday\, 30 October from 13:00.
