About this event
During Sajam Šljiva in Osečina, visitors can explore the town by a small tourist train and by traditional horse-drawn carriages. The event presents local specialties and products from Podgorina, including plum jam, plum cake, karaban and šljivovica, with opportunities to buy foods made to traditional recipes.
The fair also includes judging for fruit-based products and strong alcoholic drinks, with awards for categories such as jam, slatko, pekmez and plum cake. A ceremonial street parade and a competition in delivering traditional toasts highlight local customs, while the handicrafts section, lectures, panel discussions and round tables focus on craft skills, fruit growing and processing.
