At Galerija Podroom, Manja Ristić and Aleksandar Lazar present a joint multimedia exhibition shaped by the Atlantic and the underwater canyon of Nazaré in Portugal, known for its extreme waves and intensity. Rather than a conventional documentary approach, the work examines this marine environment through sound, image and spatial installation.
Audio material gathered with hydrophones and in field recordings brings forward traces of polluted ecosystems, altered currents and the presence of microplastics. In this setting, listening becomes a way of confronting environmental disruption that is often distant from everyday view.
The visual component by Aleksandar Lazar uses multi-channel video installation and holographic projection to translate light and vibration into the gallery space. Frequency-responsive microkinetic and cymatic forms create an immersive synesthetic environment in which sound and image continually shift.
