About this event
Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein arrive in Belgrade as part of their final live tour. The program features music from all five seasons of Stranger Things, presented with an immersive visual component by MFO (Marcel Weber).
Known for the series’ retro-leaning electronic sound, the two composers return to the synthesizers for a set that spans the full arc of the score, from the well-known opening theme to later, larger-scale pieces from the finale. Alongside their work for the Netflix series, Dixon and Stein are also members of the Texas synth-wave group S U R V I V E.
For the visual side of the performance, MFO uses a combination of lighting and smoke-based sculptural effects rather than conventional screen imagery, shaping the concert environment into a cinematic live experience.
Their soundtrack work helped renew interest in analog synth aesthetics associated with the 1980s in contemporary pop culture. In addition to recognition on Stranger Things, the duo has received an Emmy and multiple Grammy nominations.
