About this event
Marking Armistice Day in the First World War, the National Museum of Serbia will host the lecture “The Contribution of the Serbian Army to the Allied Victory in the First World War” on Wednesday, 11 November, at 16:00.
The speaker is Col. Prof. Dr Slobodan Đukić from the Department of Social Sciences of the Military Academy Dean’s Office.
The museum building adds historical context to the event: the final armistice act of the First World War, known as the Belgrade Armistice, was signed there on 13 November 1918, when the building housed the Administration of Funds. The Allied signatories were French General Paul Prosper Henry and Serbian Vojvoda Živojin Mišić, while the signatory for the newly proclaimed Kingdom of Hungary was Minister of War Béla Linder.
The programme is free for all visitors, and no prior registration is needed.
