Čivijada in Šabac forms part of the city’s long-running cultural and tourist programme built around carnival, humour and satire. The celebration includes a children’s carnival for costumed participants, a large international carnival with visiting groups from other cities, and additional accompanying events.
In September, ahead of the Mali Gospojina Šabački vašar, Šabac also hosts the “Belosvetski vašar humora i satire”. The programme includes competitions for aphorisms, satirical stories and caricatures, a caricature exhibition, and the selection of the president of the Čivijaška republika.
