Lovefest began in 2007 as an initiative by young people from Vrnjačka Banja who wanted to create a major event in their town. The first edition was held on Most ljubavi and drew around 1,000 visitors; a year later it moved to Letnja pozornica, where Marshall Jefferson performed and attendance grew to about 6,000. Since 2014, the festival has been staged in the city park, and the source states that it now includes five stages, more than 3,000 performers, and over 25,000 visitors per day. The festival was also named the best regional festival for 2018 in the source text.
