How to travel from Belgrade to Zlatibor
By bus
The bus is the standard choice for the Belgrade–Zlatibor corridor. Lasta operates the main scheduled services from Belgrade's bus station (BAS), with several departures throughout the day. Journey time to Zlatibor centre is roughly 3–3.5 hours via the E763 Miloš Veliki expressway. Buses stop at several points along the Zlatibor plateau, which is helpful if your accommodation is spread across the resort. Book tickets at BAS or online; weekend services and summer holiday periods fill up — buying ahead is recommended. Check current schedules at bas.rs.
By car
Driving from Belgrade to Zlatibor follows the E763 Miloš Veliki expressway southwest toward Užice. The road is modern and in good condition. From Užice, a secondary road climbs to the Zlatibor plateau. Driving time under normal conditions is roughly 3 hours. A car is useful in Zlatibor as the resort area is spread over a wide plateau, and the gondola, Šargan Eight narrow-gauge railway at Mokra Gora, and Tara National Park are all accessible by car within a day trip.
By train (to Užice)
Srbija Voz operates train services to Užice, roughly 25 km from Zlatibor. From Užice station, a bus or taxi to the plateau completes the journey, though the timing of connections requires checking in advance. This combination is less convenient than the direct bus for most travellers.
Which option to choose
The direct bus from Belgrade is the most convenient option for most visitors. A car is worth considering if you plan to also visit Tara National Park, the Šargan Eight railway at Mokra Gora, or the Uvac river canyon, all of which are within day-trip range from Zlatibor.
